Jacob Aagaard, geboren 1973, ist ein dänischer Großmeister der mit Wohnsitz in Schottland auch an schottischen sowie britischen Meisterschaften (1. Platz 2007 bei seiner einzigen Teilnahme) teilgenommen hat und für Schottland sogar die Schacholympiaden 2006 und 2008 spielte. Noch mehr bekannt ist Aagaard aber als vielfacher Autor von Büchern (u.a. das preisgekrönte Excelling at Chess) und DVDs sowie als Mitbegründer des Schachbuchverlages Quality Chess. 2010 wurde seinen Attacking Manuals 1 und 2 (die auf den DVDs von ChessBase basieren) der Preis der englischen Schachförderation für das Buch des Jahres verliehen.
