Lawrence Trent, geboren 1986, ist ein Internationaler Meister, der England bei vielen internationalen Jugendmeisterschaften vertreten hat (u.a. 7. Platz bei der WM U18 2003). Der Londoner mit Studienabschluss in Romanistik hat bereits viel Erfahrung als Trainer gesammelt. Trent hat für ChessBase schon mehrere DVDs und 60-Minuten Videos aufgenommen. Seine Fähigkeiten zur Live-Schachkommentierung unterstrich Trent auch bei den London Chess Classic, wo er die Partien von Carlsen, Kramnik und Co. für das Publikum im Saal und auf Playchess kommentierte.
